APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2025: APSC, also known as Assam Public Service Commission is responsible for conducting the Assam Civil Services Exam (Combined Competitive Examination). The APSC exam is conducted in three stages including Prelims, Mains and Interview. Candidates are required to clear all three stages in order to get recruited for the post for which they have applied.
Eligibility Criteria for APSC Combined Competitive Examination 2025
Candidates can check the eligibility criteria on the official website of APSC. Furthermore, there are various factors that determine the eligibility of the candidate including their age limit, educational qualification and others. It should be noted that the eligibility criteria are different for different posts. Candidates can take a look at the following APSC eligibility criteria for the following factors.
Age Limit for APSC CCE
The minimum age of the candidate should be not less than 21 years and not more than 38 years as of 01-01-2025.
Age Limit Relaxation
- SC/STP/STH Candidate – Upto 5 years of age relaxation
- OBC/MOBC Candidates – Upto 3 years of age relaxation
- Candidates with personal disability (PwD) – Upto 10 years of age relaxation
- Ex-Serviceman – Upto 12 years of age relaxation
The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation /HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council, and no other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for the purpose.
Educational Qualification for APSC CCE
- Candidates should have a genuine degree from a recognised college/university in India.
- Candidates must know that a degree which has been obtained from a distance mode of education will not be eligible.
- Apart from English, candidates should know at least one language of the state of Assam
NOTE: Candidates must know that sincere there are various posts candidates can apply for, and the requirement of an educational degree may vary.
APSC CCE Prelims Syllabus
Candidates can find the APSC CCE syllabus on the official website of APSC. APSC syllabus is an important part of a candidate’s preparation. Since there are three stages of APSC CCE, the syllabus for prelims, mains and interview is also different.
The Paper II of the C.C. (Prelim) Examination is a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
- This paper is of qualifying nature.
- The questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.
- This Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the Candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination will not be counted for determining the final order of merit/selection.
There will be negative marking for incorrect answers as detailed below:
There are four alternatives for the answers to every question. One-fourth of the total mark assigned to one question will be deducted for wrong answer marked by a candidate.
If a candidate marks more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct.

Candidates should note that the APSC CCE prelim, mains and interview pattern is different from one another. Meanwhile, the total marks for the APSC prelim exam are set as 400 marks whereas the APSC mains and interview marks are kept as 1680 (1500 Mains + 180 Interview).
The interview, however, will not have any qualifying marks. The marks scored at the interview will be added to the marks scored in the Written Examination (Main).
